Privacy

No account. No name. Your answers stay with you.

Updated 5 November 2026

The site is built so that your answers and your results never leave your device.

What happens to your answers

All calculations run in your browser. Your answers, your three words and your result are never sent to any server, ours or anyone else's.

An unfinished check is kept in your browser's storage (localStorage, under pm.progress) so you can continue later. Once the overview is shown, it is removed. What stays is a short history (pm.history: the date and your five positions, at most the last 12), so you can see what changed next time, and your last overview (pm.last: your answers, three words and the light you chose), so it opens again after a reload or a change of language.

When you open the way to the personality book, your answers (including your three words and the light you chose) are kept here under pm.pro (at most the six most recent), so the book can be written on this device once a key opens it. The book itself is written only after that, on this device. A KeyTill key, if you add one, is kept here too (pm.key). The days you tick in the four-week experiment and your if–then plan are kept under pm.track.

When you confirm the short notice before your first check, its version and the date are kept under pm.consent. Your setting for background movement is kept under pm.settings, and the language you chose under pm.lang. Nothing of this is sent anywhere.

Saving your light print as an image creates the picture in your browser and saves it to your device. Nothing is uploaded. Share (on devices that offer it) hands the picture and its name to your device's own share sheet; you choose where it goes, and nothing passes through us.

The Delete my data button on the overview, and the one below, removes all of it, including saved books and your key. Clearing site data in your browser does the same.

The free overview and the personality book

Every check gives a free overview: your light print and your position on all five scales. The optional personality book is written in your browser when a KeyTill licence key opens it (level 1, Starter, or higher): US$3.49 for 12 months, one payment, nothing renews.

You pay in a window on this page. KeyTill creates the payment and Stripe shows its payment form in that window; Stripe's script loads only when you click to pay, never before, and Stripe may use its own cookies there to prevent fraud. You give your email and payment details to Stripe, not to us. No answers, positions or anything else about you goes to KeyTill or Stripe: KeyTill learns only that you came from Personality Meter (so the community price applies), your language and where to send you back. If the window can't load, you can pay on keytill.com instead, with the same information.

After payment your browser fetches the key from KeyTill, and it arrives by email too. Your browser checks the key's digital signature against KeyTill's public key, on this device. The key is never sent to us. It contains an order number, its level and its expiry date, not your name or email address. When it expires, saved books lock again; print or save yours as PDF while the key is valid.

Who does what

A separate company, which runs KeyTill, holds the rights to the meter software, including the personality book. Lebwerte uses the software under a licence that covers the free overview, which it provides free. Whoever wants the book buys a licence key at KeyTill. The company is responsible for its software, the keys and the payment; who sells the key, the terms, tax and refunds are shown in the payment window (and on keytill.com) before you pay.

Lebwerte, a non-profit association, runs Personality Meter and writes the content. It is responsible for that content and receives no payment from KeyTill.

What the site loads

Fonts, styles and scripts are hosted on personalitymeter.com. The site makes no connection to Google Fonts or any other third party; the only exception is the payment window (Stripe and KeyTill), and only after you click to pay. The site sets no cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner. There is no visitor analytics. If that ever changes, it will be cookie-free, it will never see your answers, and this paragraph will change first.

Server logs

Like every server, the hosting keeps short-lived technical records of requests (IP address, time, page) for security and to keep the site running. They contain no answers or results.

Contact and your rights

Lebwerte (Forum Lebenswerte Verein), a non-profit association under Swiss law, Zürich. You can reach us through the contact page. Because we hold no answers or results, there is nothing about your check for us to show, correct or delete; it is all on your device and under your control. For questions about server logs, write to us.
